The Yarra Valley has been blessed with many delicious new offerings.
The Four Pillars Gin Distillery is just moments away from High Street Homes, its bright beautiful space perfect for the best G & T of your life, as well as gin flights, gin cocktails and the fabulous local cider from St Ronan’s.
Herd Cafe & Bar is a short walk in the other direction for Middle Eastern inspired share plates, local wines and cocktails – a taste of inner city Melbourne in our lovely little town. Big guns such as The Age and Herald Sun have been banging their door down to write rave reviews, with even more here.
The Grand Hotel has been lovingly restored to its former glory and the menu matches perfectly. Featuring a very smart dining room (they’ve even upcycled the flocked wallpaper and it looks fantastic!) and a friendly bar with high tables & beer garden make for a warm country pub feel. You can’t miss our ‘Grand’ dame along the main street.
It’s not new but we love it – Boat O’Craigo is just the ticket for an afternoon ‘apero’ – vineyard views, antipasto platters and wine. It’s just up the road (and virtually tourist free!!).
Another favourite (even though we shouldn’t have favourites) is the stunning Hanrahan Winery – creators of shiraz that will give you goosebumps on your soul. They are also the brains behind ”Reverse BYO” – bring something fresh and delicious from any of the fantastic local providores and they’ll sort you out with wine to enjoy on the spectacular grounds of the winery. Meet the wonderful cellar door team and their lovely blue Staffy Otis.
For the best calcium fix stop off at Yarra Valley Dairy and load up on everything you need for the best picnic / pre-dinner aperitif / taste explosion! As well as their range of cheeses made on the premises, they stock beautiful smoked trout, jams, gifts, wine, beer and pop up cellar doors from various vignerons. Enjoy a cheese platter or a coffee on the premises – perfect for these chilly days! Don’t forget to take home some souvenirs for the fridge! #partyinmymouth
